Is Kennington A Good Place To Live?

If 2022 is the year you move home, it is likely you will be weighing up your options already. There is a lot to consider when it comes to finding your ideal home, but you need to think about your options.

We think you need to settle in a place you feel comfortable, and we are sure Kennington is a good place to live.

What does Kennington have to offer?

We almost feel as though we shouldn’t talk too much about what Kennington has to offer given that many people believe it is one of the greatest secrets of the London housing market. This is an area with a lot of lovely homes and more importantly, there is an abundance of green space for people to enjoy.

It has become very important for people to enjoy open spaces in the past few years, and this has been a significant issue in many parts of the London housing market. Therefore, there is no denying that an area like Kennington which provides opportunities to socialise, exercise, relax and take things easy will appeal to likely buyers. As you would expect, Kennington Park is one of the leading lights of the area.

There is also a good sense of community spirit in Kennington. The farmer’s market is an excellent hub in the community, and with a great array of independent stores, you will feel as though you are shopping in a special place, as opposed to an area that is filled with the same big brand names.

How is the Kennington house market faring in 2022?

According to Rightmove, as we enter 2022, the Kennington house market is faring as follows;

Properties in Kennington had an overall average price of £644,573 over the last year.

The majority of sales in Kennington during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £538,358. Terraced properties sold for an average of £1,021,245, with semi-detached properties fetching £875,000.

Overall, sold prices in Kennington over the last year were 4% down on the previous year and 34% down on the 2018 peak of £977,762.”

While some people might be slightly alarmed at house prices falling in Kennington, in the grand scheme of things, this is nothing to be concerned about. This has been the case in many parts of London in the past year, and the expectation is that prices will rise as we make our way through 2022.
